Here is the latest breaking news from around the world: Donning protective kit for a first glance at the Bayeux Tapestry Donning protective kit for a first glance at the Bayeux Tapestry CloseThe British Museum is preparing to put the Bayeux Tapestry on display, after the 70m-long 11th Century embroidery was brought to London from northern France last week. It was chaperoned by police guard from a secret location to the museum, under the cover of darkness. The priceless work is set to go on show in September.
It is the first time the artefact, which depicts events leading up to the Battle of Hastings and Norman Conquest of England in 1066, has returned to the UK in more than 900 years. It's believed to have been created here nearly 1,000 years ago. The 's Culture Editor Katie Razzall visited the British Museum for a sneak peak.
